Teresa is a British librettist, lyricist and playwright.
At present she’s working on a musical adaptation of William Nicholson’s fantasy novel THE WIND SINGER, with composer Sarah Llewellyn (featured at BEAM18, RSC residency/workshop 18/19 and Peggy Ramsay Foundation award). She’s also writing an English version of Rossini’s THE BARBER OF SEVILLE, a radio play for the BBC and collaborating on an immersive music theatre project KARAOKE SOUNDSCAPE (TRAVERS Copenhagen Contemporary 2021).
Teresa’s written book and lyrics for two musicals with composer Steven Edis: I CAPTURE THE CASTLE, an adaptation of Dodie Smith’s classic novel (UK tour 2017 Watford Palace Theatre, Bolton Octagon and Oxford Playhouse) and POSSESSED, (Oxford Playhouse & Camden People’s Theatre). She’s also written two operatic libretti for composer Sun Keting: NEW GENUS and MILK, and a song-cycle commission for Soprano and Viola, UNSUNG (University
of Colorado, Boulder 2020).
She was series creator and writer of PROTECTORS for Talisman TV and her stage plays include GROCK (Chichester Festival Theatre), STONEFIST (Soho Theatre) and BADER & DOOLITTLE (JABOD). She’s worked for the literary department of the Royal Court Theatre and received Fellowships as resident writer at Winchester School of Art and The Hosking Houses Trust. Teresa is a Mercury Musical Developments (MMD) Board member, runs Writing LAB I and is a Director of Kelmscott Productions.
